Rembrandt van Rijn silk lining panel - 'Night Watch'
Printed to order
'Night Watch' or in Dutch 'De Nachtwacht' was painted by Dutch Master Rembrandt van Rijn (1606-1669) in 1642 and is officially called 'Militia Company of District II under the Command of Captain Frans Banninck Cocq´ ('Schutters van wijk II onder leiding van kapitein Frans Banninck Cocq'). This oil on canvas painting depicts captain Banninck Cocq telling his lieutenant Willem van Ruytenburch to start the company marching, as guardsmen are getting into formation. The piece was originally made for the Arquebusiers guild hall, one of the halls of Amsterdam´s civic guard. It is Rembrandt´s largest and most famous canvas, and is part of the collection of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
Our lining panels are printed to order in Macclesfield, a town in England with a history of over 300 years of silk production and printing.
Please note that we currently do not have these panels in stock, they are printed to order. It takes roughly 4-6 weeks before panels are ready for shipping. For most jackets two panels should suffice for lining, but we urge you to check this with your tailor before ordering.
