1401065.00879'The Merry Drinker' or in Dutch 'De vrolijke drinker' was painted by Dutch Master Frans Hals (1582-1666) between 1628 and 1630. This oil on canvas painting depicts a jolly man, wearing a leather jerkin, and a lace collar and cuffs. In his left hand he's holding a glass of white wine. It is believed to be a genre piece, rather than a portrait, and is part of the collection of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
